Additional Commentary
Mortgage interest rates are a huge part of the decision of which lender you intend to use, whether you are purchasing your first home or the "home of your dreams", or just need to refinance.
Interest rates, however, have become much more specific to the borrower's circumstances, including but not limited to credit scores, income, other debt, and when purchasing a new property, whether or not the current home is to be sold, but won't close prior to closing on the NEW property. Also, refinance rates may vary from purchase rates, depending upon several factors.
Even if your credit score is only one POINT below underwriting guidelines, your loan terms -- including interest rate -- may be affected. This information is meant to advise you, not to discourage you. We have dedicated professionals who will assess your mortgage situation, and advise you on what other options may be available to you.
But, if you are a "do-it-yourself-er", or feel you just want to pre-shop, please feel free to search our rates to access generic rates within our network of lenders. And be aware that the fixed rates now are sometimes better than adjustable rates, especially with a "zero point" option.
